We’ve been home for a week, and our two-week vacation has become a memory. All this week, we’ve been getting up, going to work, coming home, catching up with shows on TiVo, catching up with reading, catching up with Riley. NPR : 1957 Was the Year of the Icons Robert Siegel did a little culture piece today about 1957, the year that launched Sputnik, the X-13, and me. Apparently, Eisenhower dispatched the federal troops to Little Rock on the day I was actually born, although my parents were probably too busy at the time to notice. A lot of cool stuff happened in 1957. I’d better surf this trend as long as I can – probably 50 minutes’ worth.

Monday, September 24th was the 50th anniversary of my debut on this planet. I started this post but ran out of time to finish it on “the day,” and we’ve been busy every day since then.
