And then I read this and realized there was a strong underlying neurological reason why brooding about my disappointing high school years seems more… satisfying than replaying old scenes from college or afterwards. And my mopey but awesome command of goof wasn't that original. Google+: View post on Google+

I spent all day writing this moody, self-absorbed post, in reaction to a story on Oprah. Also in the back of my mind was a story on high school that I'd barely skimmed, and then another one cropped up belatedly in my feed. I was not alone, apparently – nobody that survives high school is. Google+: View post on Google+

Welcome To Invisibility, Formerly Young and Pretty Women. We Unconventional Women Hope You Enjoy Your Stay

    January 26, 2013 - By ginny

This morning, I had a crazy "back in high school" dream no doubt triggered by pondering my rather disappointing, invizibul life. In it, a guy that I didn't know well, but had been friendly with argued with me about being invisible or unattractive. In fact, this dream-guy told me that I was admirable for having "an awesome and world-changing command of goof." Yes, my subconscious reminded me that my greatest attribute as a woman is my awesome and world-changing command of goof. It's not my appearance, but my cock-eyed outlook that makes me stand out. I have to agree with…

Nerds Don’t Need No Stinkin’ Roman Numerals To Identify Star Trek Movies

    January 21, 2013 - By ginny

My husband David and I were watching a cable rerun of one of the original-cast Star Trek movies last night, because we are nerds and thus we have no life. The official title of this movie is something long and involved: Star Trek (Insert Roman Numeral Here): The Search For Spock. YOU KLINGON BASTARD, YOU KILLED MY SON.” It takes place on the Genesis planet, immediately after the events in the…
