FOXNews and others Rousing the Rabble

Barbara Boxer should apologize for nothing | TPMCafe How did I find out that Sen. Barbara Boxer is this week's right-wingnut pundit punching bag over her challenge to Condoleeza Rice's Iraq testimony? Because the scrolling underline on FOXNews in the health club yesterday was "BOXER ATTACKS RICE." As TPM notes, Boxer was attempting to imply that neither she nor Secretary Rice had "skin in the game" in the Iraq war, but the Right bloviation machine is trumpeting it as an attack on a noble, accomplished, hard-working "single childless woman." Make no mistake, the same people would be attacking her if…

    Breathtaking

One of these top ten images taken through the Hubble telescope is going to be my new desktop  image. I had been using one that's a color-enhanced shot of the full moon. My husband's first words on seeing them: "Whoa."  Via Dave :: Eye in the sky

    Pain. Gain?

Made it to the end of the first week in the 6-week “quick start” fitness program more or less in one piece. President Big Hat No Cattle Talks Tough

NPR : U.S. Detains 6 Iranians in Irbil Raid Bush's new strategy, however, ignores key recommendations of the Iraq Study Group, which in December called for a new diplomatic offensive and an outreach to Syria and Iran. Instead, the president accused both countries of aiding terrorists and insurgents in Iraq. "We will disrupt the attacks on our forces," Bush said. "We will interrupt the flow of support from Iran and Syria." Audio of speech plays under sweetened video of the exercise. Meanwhile, video of Syrian government officials making conciliatory statements about a more cooperative relationship with the Americans is being cued up…

But…isn’t this an act of war?

NPR : U.S. Raids Iranian Consulate in Iraq U.S.-led forces raided Iran's consulate in the northern Iraqi city of Irbil on Thursday and detained five staff members. Let's see: Afghanistan, Iraq, Somalia, Iran (symbolically) and by extension our staunch allies in Iraqi Kurdistan. Any Muslim countries we're NOT going to attack? This is a foreign policy?
