Insider – [TV Guide Online] The networks will all be creating exciting, innovative new spin-offs of today’s shows. Approximately 67 percent of all television will be CSI-based, including CSI: Des Moines, CSI: New York but a Different Part than Gary Sinise Is In and NCSI: SVU WKRP, which covers every possible gruesome crime with a groovin’ ’70s beat. (Jerry Bruckheimer will also have conquered Broadway with the CSI musical “FOLLICLE!” starring Nathan Lane as a frenetic but lovable blood spatter and Matthew Broderick as lint.) Lost has that one-of-a-kind alchemy that really can’t be copied. Therefore, look for the original…

To be, or not to be, that is the question: Whether ’tis nobler in the mind to suffer The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune, Or to take arms against a sea of troubles, And by opposing, end them. – Hamlet’s third soliloquy Chicago Tribune | Maureen Ryan | The Watchie Awards I’ve been meaning to look up links and information on the Canadian comedy series “Slings and Arrows” for a while now. It’s been on the Sundance Channel. It’s a theatrical comedy, with wit and barbs as sharp as rapiers (“Buttons OFF!”). The main character is Geoffrey, an actor…

There are some movies that you see once in the theaters and forget. There are other movies that you see once in the theaters, forget, and watch once more when it comes to cable. And then you forget it again. There’s a third class of movies that you saw multiple times in theaters, bought the DVDs, and yet you STILL watch them when they show up on cable – this latter class includes the Lord of the Rings movies, the Harry Potter movies, and so on. One other type of movie seen in first run is the kind where you…

15 Minutes By: Nik Kershaw Nik is one of those “aha!” artists. He had one or two modest hits (in the States) in the 80’s, and as it happens I was one of the few lucky ones that bought his album that had “Wouldn’t It Be Good” and another dozen great songs on it. Actually, that’s not quite accurate. I was dumb enough to sign up for the Columbia Record “Club” in the 80’s, and I still have a bunch of dusty old cassettes kicking around in a box downstairs. There’s some great music in there, and I’ve been pondering…

The Weavers did not win TAR8. As had been predicted/spoiled previously, the Linzes won, the Bransens brought up a very tight second, the Weavers finished dead last. According to TWOP, God got out of His Tub to fill in for Miss Alli’s mini-recap while she’s off in New York whooping it up and being thankful the Weavers lost. 25 Days, 50 Cities, and More Than 600 Consecutive Hours as a Family… By God | Season 8 | Episode 11 | Aired on 2005.12.13 Oh my Self, if the Weavers got My ass out of a hot tub ONCE MORE, I…

I ordered some Fannie Mae chocolates and sold some, too recently for a Holy Moly fundraiser. Filled in the forms, turned them in with payment a couple of weeks ago. Today at work I kept getting calls on my cell phone that went to voicemail, but I had the phone set at an annoying ring volume and the last time I pretty much opened and shut the phone to shut it up, because I can’t seem to turn down or turn off the ringer when the thing is closed. So I managed to set it to vibrate, and the phone…

We’re going to blog along from home again, and then add some amusing links. I’ll start off by saying, once again, that my dislike for the Weavers burns with the heat of a million little Sternos. Not suns, because suns are grand and big and all-encompassing, and Sternos are little and dinky and they burn with a kind of “meh” flame. Anyway, we start out in this order: Linzerfarts Eeyore and the Bransens Christine Gabbleski and the Gadzookski Sisters Evil Weavers, Weevils, Florida, Team Help Me Jebus, Yield Us, etc. Before we get started, I’ll predice ANOTHER non-elimination, because there’s…

I’m currently listening to Harry Shearer’s Le Show. David doesn’t care for this show, but like it when I happen to hear it. I was in the mood for a little political commentary, satire, and humor after just seeing “Good Night, and Good Luck.” As we left the theater tonight, I remarked that cigarette smoke was like another character in the movie. After checking the official website for the movie, I see that cigarette smoke is about the only thing moving on the splash screen after the intro. And now ::yawn:: good night. Good luck too, I suppose.

How long will we be afflicted with the Weaver pox, oh Lord?
