Okay, I actually found this via Boing Boing and it totally rocks. I’m thinking of saying it the next time I’m stuck having to recite the Pledge. And I know at least one person who owns a UFP flag, so must pass it along later. “It’s Ms., please. And sorry for my attire, but I ran a marathon yesterday and I’m too sore to change this morning.” I tried to infect her with my smile, but she wore a tight-lipped expression as frosty as her jacket. “So, anyway. What did he do?” I picked at the hem of my sweatshirt,…

Saturday night we went to see Batman Begins. It was pretty good, but I thought it dragged in some spots. David liked it better than I did. Afterwards, we went to Brass for dinner and a nice pubbrew. A great evening. By far, the best part was the TRAILERS. Specifically, the Big Damn Movie Trailer! I made an involuntary W00T! noise and clapped, before David even figured out what it was. Watched with rapt attention (because I never seem to be able to nab tickets to the Sneak Previews, another of which is June 23rd and totally sold out). At…

Hey! Everybody Googling “brian and greg smith amazing race,” “brian and greg wrecked car,” and especially “ugly hats” please visit Brian’s site: brian . thomas . smith It’s a great looking site with incredible head shots of Brian (obviously working the reality angle for his career), but oh, dear, the HTML is all tables. Gah! No CSS! And it has spacer .gifs! Urrrkkkh! Bri – I know someone in LA who might be able to help redesign that site, dude. Also the contact information doesn’t work, but that’s probably for the best. P.S. There’s a perfectly good site name for…

Amendola, a veteran character actor, added that his character, a mentor to Teal’c (Christopher Judge), will appear several times during year nine. “Last season, primarily, our enemy had been destroyed,” he said. “The war essentially ended. And now it’s a question of how do you make the peace? And how do you make the peace when you’ve be warring with each other, as factions, for thousands of years and only came together to defeat a common enemy? Now that the enemy is gone, how do you maintain the peace? How do you create a governance? It’s very timely. I’ve already…

This sounds like something that would be fun to do some Saturday: Community Sing at the Masthouse If it’s anything like McMenamin’s was in Seattle a couple of weeks ago, it would be awesome. No drinking – fine, it’s a private home. No smoking – AWESOME.

Seen at Father Jake’s: BUSHFLASH – I knew that was AAR’s Mike Malloy doing the spoken word part, but the flash animation and music are great, too. I’ll have to go back and listen to “Did you get the memo?” too.

All praise be to St McTivo, which captured the return of AAR’s Al Franken Show to Sundance Channel. They have an attactive new set and the TV show broadcasts one hour of the 3-hour radio show, which works better for me. I can’t really listen at work without either disturbing my neighbors or slowing down my computer’s connection to certain systems (there’s a network problem somewhere, and the suspected culprit is either excessive bandwidth use by all of us, or a whole lot of spyware). Anyway, it’s good to see Al and Katherine, and it gets me all het up…

From Boing Boing: 2005 Risks in Global Filmmaking Map is a likely first stop for the producers of TAR to start mapping out places to take people around the world and torture them for our amusement. I sat up until 3 friggin’ 30 last night watching the webcast from the Emmy awards that featured Dennis Miller, TAR producers, and former TAR racers in a panel discussion. It was mostly a stitch, but Bertram Van Munster really didn’t want to talk about that car accident in Botswana when the cameraman got hurt. Assume “out of court settlement,” I guess. And they’ll…

One of the rare treats being a digital cable household in this area means we get BBC America, and thanks be to St. TiVo, I get to watch one of my favorite “Britcoms” when it occasionally shows up on the local PBS channel, The Vicar of Dibley. This show came out about 10 years ago, and following the British model, it aired 3 series (that’s “seasons” but with several years’ lapse between each) and several holiday specials. Recently, TiVo snagged the Christmas and New Years‘ specials – the Yule special before we left on vacation, and the New Years’ one…

Joey and a few other bloggers say The Worst Line in “Revenge of the Sith”… is NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! I’m with the WBEZ announcer who broadcast to all and sundry on Saturday that the worse line is actually “Hold me… like you did by the lake on Naboo.” We might get to see the movie again this weekend in the company of friends. Heh.
