This one is even more woo-woo than usual for Utah: Saying he wanted to go see his mother for Christmas, a man tried to drive away in a South Salt Lake fire engine, according to police. The man also is accused of assaulting the firefighters who tried to stop him from stealing the $500,000 vehicle. The episode occurred about 11:30 a.m. Monday. Now WordPress 2.7… does what 2.5 did. Actually, a plugin called MiniPosts2 has been updated so that it behaves more like it did on the 2.5 edit screen. This makes it a lot quicker and easier to do “asides” again.

Last night’s snow (or as I originally typo-ed, slow), dumped only about 4 inches on suburban streets in the area, but the traffic was horrendous and there were enough minor accidents to put corks in all the bottlenecks. And due to the way the east-west arterials around here are blocked by large tracts of parkland or shopping malls, there’s only a few ways to get between work and home. If there’s bad weather, or traffic, everything gets choked off at one of two places. I started out pissed, as I had a late “hit” call where someone needed an exchange…
