    The World’s Most Boring Blog

Yes! It’s right here! I have had nothing interesting to say for weeks or months on end! Meanwhile, congratulations to Annie Mole for keeping her Going Underground London Tube Blog fresh and interesting for almost nine years. We’ve been back from our most recent vacation (to Colorado again) for a couple of weeks, yet today is the first time I’ve been able to tear myself away from playing Bejeweled Blitz and the TV long enough to upload some of the pictures… which may or may not get uploaded to Flickr. I’ve got some photos from the recent “Pet Blessing” at…

Fixed my “Press This Reloaded” Plugin Myself, Thank You

For some time now, I’ve been unable to blog easily from my iPhone because the “Press This” plug in stopped working well – I suspected it was because of all the extra crap Google Reader adds with the “$UTM” tracking codes to the URL. I’d also noticed that the “Press This Reloaded” plugin worked okay, except that the link it added was only “complete” (including the title of the page linked, the a href HTML tags) if I happened to select some text to quote. It turns out that’s the way Scribu, the plugin developer wrote it. He was assuming…

Air India Unaware of the Concept of “Chartering A Bus”

I just don’t understand why Air India didn’t just charter a bus for these people – their flight into London Heathrow was diverted to Gatwick, a little over an hour away. There are regular express buses (called coaches in the UK) between the two airports and there’s even regular scheduled bus services that are really cheap (the fare is about 25GBP). Instead, they were forced to sit on the plane for up to 9 hours while Air India waited for a rested crew to show up to fly the plane from Gatwick to Heathrow. If they’d been put on a…

Steve Jobs Day: This Video Will Make You Cry

Passed along by Mashable, a video that’s worth watching today. “I made this song using only sounds from Apple products and Steve’s 2005 Stanford commencement speech. Every instrument, including drums, has been sampled from a Mac product, tuned by ear, and replayed in the context of the song.” via Steve Jobs Day: This Video Will Make You Cry.

Terra Nova tonight was predictable; show needs Mr Sulu running around with a sword and less pesky dinosaurs. 😉 @GeorgeTakei # In the coming weeks I predict the Terra Novans discover a "lost" tribe of humans descended from a penal colony, led by Crazy Math Boy. # Also in coming weeks, the little girl makes friends with a cute little dinosaur whose venom is the key to medical miracles. # Meanwhile, how long do the Terra Novans have until that asteroid strike? How does the rebooted human race survive global extinction? # Also in coming weeks, they meet some biped…

My Birthday, Let Me Show You It Again and Again

We went down to visit with my husband David’s parents tonight, for dinner and to celebrate my birthday one last time. My birthday was actually last Saturday, which was pretty fun as it was the last full day of vacation. We spent the evening with my college friend Arne, catching up and drinking delicious beers at Coopersmith’s Ale House in Ft Collins. Then on Sep 27, I celebrated my second birthday, because the first year we were dating, David thought that was my birthday. Also, my father-in-law got mixed up and thought it was the 26th, so they called a…
