House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul is the latest to point out the problem in his party.
…In an interview with Puck News’s Julia Ioffe, Rep. Michael McCaul (R-Tex.) — none other than the GOP chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee — flat-out said that Russian propaganda had “infected a good chunk of my party’s base.”
McCaul suggested conservative media was to blame.
“There are some more nighttime entertainment shows that seem to spin, like, I see the Russian propaganda in some of it — and it’s almost identical [to what they’re saying on Russian state television] — on our airwaves,” McCaul said.
I don’t know if the ABC is bending over backwards to be politic with the rest of the flock, or if he’s jsut that deadset against the direction TEC is taking, but I’m finding it extremely irksome regardless.
Especially when you consider what he wrote as the Bishop of Monmouth on sexuality before he got saddled with the task of herding ecclesiastical cats.
It’s tough. Our own bishop has been quite clear that his personal opinion on the sexuality question takes a back seat to his episcopal role for the diocese and church as a whole. Which works to a point — but only so far.
I’m about to listen to the on-demand webcast the PB made from Trinity Wall Street. Due to my idiotic inability to remember that New York is ahead of us by an hour, I missed the live ‘cast. The part I caught at the end didn’t strike me as a firmly taken position against the bullying from the Primates, although she did speak out against the power-grab aspects and that the Archbishop isn’t helping things any by stating that Lambeth/Windsor is an official church teaching now.
Man, I’ve really become Little Ginny One-Note on this, but it’s what’s currently the biggest blip on my Outrage Radar.
Ditto. 😛
